Where We Find Home: Recent Southern Photography
The Click! Photography Festival is a month-long festival in October that brings together exhibitions and programming while fostering dialogue between photographers and community members, all in hopes of inspiring artistic excellence, supporting professional development and promoting community engagement.
As a official prelude event for the festival, The Scrap Exchange is partnering with professional photographer Jeremy Lange to present its first photography exhibition. The exhibition, a collection of 12 photographers from around the country, explores the contemporary landscape of the southern United States. With an emphasis on the voice of the photographer, the images are direct, personal, and at times experimental, but ultimately reach out into the larger world to engage, question and ultimately embrace the places in which we work and live. Contributing photographers include Ben Alper, DL Anderson, Aaron Canipe, Justin Cook, Phyllis Dooney, Matt Eich, Preston Gannaway, Lissa Gotwals, Jeremy M. Lange, Jared Soares, Aaron Turner, and Will Warasila.
Where We Find Home: Recent Southern Photography will be on display from Friday, September 15, 2017 thru Saturday, October 14, 2017. An opening reception will be held on Friday, September 15th from 6-9PM. The evening’s festivities include light snacks and drinks, as well as free art making in the Make and Take. This event is free and the public is warmly welcomed.
