Volunteer with us!
Join The Scrap Exchange team and spread the word:
it’s all about environmental awareness, community
and creativity through re-use!
The Scrap Exchange is a friendly, creative, and fun place to volunteer. With a small core staff, we rely on volunteers to help process and organize materials, clean and maintain the store, and generally keep things running smoothly. We welcome volunteers who can commit to a regular schedule as well as one-time service learning groups. Projects may include greeting customers, sorting, packaging, merchandising, and organizing materials as well as general cleaning, sweeping, and tidying. We are happy to work with volunteers of all ages and abilities, and are able to accommodate large groups.
To get started, all volunteers must attend a volunteer orientation. During this hour-long meeting, you’ll take a tour of our stores and learn about our history, our general operations, and how volunteers help us. Once you’ve attended an orientation, you can schedule your volunteer shifts with the volunteer coordinator. Everyone is warmly welcomed to join us!
For more information, check out our pages below or contact our volunteer coordinator, Tatyana, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 919-401-0552.
Volunteer orientations are held on the third Sunday of each month at 3:00 pm.
To find our next orientation date, check out our event calendar!
