We are happy to have those in need of court-mandated community service hours join us at The Scrap Exchange. Anyone looking to complete their hours with us must attend a community service orientation, which we hold every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. At the orientation, you’ll learn about our history, our operations, and what we expect from volunteers, and you’ll fill out some paperwork and take a tour of our stores. Once you’ve completed a community service orientation, you can schedule shifts with us any time during
Community service orientations are held in the Scrap Shop (main building)
every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

If you have court-ordered community service,
please make sure you attend a community service orientation, not a general volunteer orientation.
In order to complete your community service at The Scrap Exchange, you must bring paperwork with the following information:
- How many hours you intend to complete
- The nature of you ticket/citation
- The lawyer/case coordinator/someone from the court system’s contact information, especially their email address
Acceptable paperwork includes: a letter, papers, or a placement form from your lawyer, case coordinator, or the court systems
