The Scrap Exchange’s Events by the Truckload —
a traveling creative arts program for community fairs and festivals, schools, businesses, summer camps, and other organizations.
An eco-friendly creative arts activity for all ages! Our Make-N-Take program brings an endless array of fascinating and unusual reclaimed materials to your event — including cones and tubes from textile mills, fabric samples from decorators, vinyl sticker paper from sign shops, and so much more. Folks of all ages will have a blast building whatever they can imagine out of the materials we provide! We include tools (scissors, tape, and staplers) for creating along with staff to manage set up, clean up, and all of the creativity in between.
Everyone leaves your event with a fantastic project of their own invention!
Create funky instruments with reuse materials! Junk Jams is a creative program that allows participants to experiment with using unusual materials to create one of a kind instruments. Along with making an instrument (that the participants get to take home), they will have the opportunity to test out their new music makers with one of our trained facilitators. The program is designed so that anyone can participate — no musical experience necessary! Junk Jams is a great way to turn spectators into participants, making your event something attendees will remember for years to come!
Just want to use our instruments? We also have an impressive array of 70+ instruments built from buckets, tubes, cans, pots, and other fantastic upcycled materials that are available for rent!

Corporate Teambuilding Programs
Want to refresh your work group or get your team’s creative juices flowing? We can bring our famous creative reuse programming to you! Participants will work collaboratively to design and build a thematic art project using our fun, colorful, and unique materials. At the same time, they’ll enhance their collective creativity and problem solving skills.
Here are examples of programming we can provide:
New Company Banner
Participants design a team, department, or company banner using the unique supplies provided. Each banner element should communicate their purpose, values, audience, and work culture. Smaller groups collaborate on particular components, and then all pieces merge for the final product.
Engage your colleagues to change the world through community service and civic engagement. We offer service projects as an auxiliary activity to the creative team building program. Your team can engage with one another as they support our organization’s mission. We are grateful for the support of many volunteers to process materials and organize our facility.
