Make N Takean eco-friendly, creative arts activity for people of all ages

We invite people of all ages to create using our fascinating collection of materials – fabric, cardboard tubes, floppy disks, and other clean industrial discards. Our staff bring our famous blue barrels, along with scissors, tape, and staplers to fuel the creativity. Creativity and imagination are unleashed as participants make rocket ships, costumes, robots, sculptures, and more. Everyone leaves your event with a fantastic project of their own invention!

Junk Jams, creative percussion and rhythm education

Our percussion program allows everyone to play with sound using our collection of instruments built from buckets, pots, pans, and other fantastic reclaimed materials.  The program is designed so anyone can participate – no drumming experience is necessary! Our facilitator leads the drum circles at pre-determined intervals and has a 2nd staff person to assist. Circles run 15-20 minutes a few times per hour, creating a lively atmosphere for your event.

Build It!, transforming playtime with unusual materials

Playtime helps kids build friendships, develop new skills and engage their imaginations by providing the opportunity to explore and be creative. To foster inventive free-play we’ve developed Build It! Our kits of loose parts transform any area – a classroom, parking lot, empty field, or concrete pad – into a fantastical world of play. Loose parts include items like typewriters, vintage phones, netting, tubes, blocks, fabric, and more. You will be amazed at the creative ways people of any age engage with these materials and each other.

Take Apart Station, tinkering fun and education through e-waste

This portable kit contains old electronics and appliances to dismantle the appliances and harvest parts. You’ll find circuit boards, typewriter keys, buttons and other interesting gizmos and gadgets. Take them home or leave them for us! Kids and adults can see the many components needed to operate electronics and no need to put it back together. We provide all electronics and appliances, as well as tools and safety glasses.
