The Scrap Exchange will hold its next Creative Reuse Center Boot Camp from June 12-15, 2018. Whether you are just getting started in developing a center, or need help growing an existing program, this boot camp is for you. Take advantage of our knowledge and experience in growing a reuse center from 2 founders with a dream in 1991, to today’s multi-faceted, 7-day/week operation employing 10 staff members and 22 part-time employees in a 23,000 sq. ft. creative reuse arts center and an 18,000 sq. ft. thrift store! What you will learn
Operations overview including: collecting and managing materials, programming (creative arts services, retail sales, online sales, gallery shows, and more), options for business models, PR and marketing strategies, financial management and data tracking, working with volunteers and staff, working with a board of directors, facility issues, and best practices. Additional information includes an opportunity to attend a Scrap Exchange Board of Directors meeting and committee meetings, Third Friday Gallery opening, open studio, and opportunities for connecting with other participants in the Reuse sector.
Cost and Registration
Includes all workshops and some meals during bootcamp hours. Accommodations are not provided. Please let us know if you would like a list of convenient accommodations.
