Tickets are now on sale for Brew Durham 5, a homebrew festival that celebrates the art and craft of home brewing. If you enjoy tasting home brewed beer, and also enjoy sampling scrumptious treats from local restaurants crafted with locally grown ingredients, then Brew Durham 5 is the event you don’t want to miss!
Brew Durham was started in 2011 by local home brewer and Ponysaurus Brewing founder Keil Jansen as a fundraiser to benefit The Scrap Exchange, a nonprofit creative reuse arts center in Durham. Home brewers naturally embody a DIY and creative spirit that is also a hallmark of The Scrap Exchange mission, and the fundraiser easily blossomed into an annual event.
The festival takes place here at The Scrap Exchange. Attendees will be invited to taste over 55 types of beer crafted by 30 of the Triangle’s finest home brewers.
Brew Durham 5 also includes another tasty treat for ticket holders – food served by local restaurants prepared with local ingredients! Several downtown Durham restaurants are teaming up with The Scrap Exchange and brewers to provide a delicious sampling of small bite snacks prepared specifically to accompany the home brew during the festival. As an additional home-grown element, restaurants will be using pasture-raised meats and organic North Carolina veggies donated for the event by Firsthand Foods and Eastern Carolina Organics (ECO).
Brew Durham 5 takes place on Saturday, November 8th and includes two tasting sessions:
Session 1: 1:00pm-4:00pm
Session 2: 5:00pm-8:00pm
Advance tickets cost $35 per session, and can be purchased online at brewdurham5.eventbrite.com. Want to attend the event with friends or family as a designated driver? Advance tickets for designated drivers (no alcohol) are available for $15. Small-bite snacks are available during the event for all ticket-holders. Local bands will provide live music throughout the day. (Be sure to buy your tickets in advance! Tickets at the door will cost $40 for beer tasting tickets, or $20 for designated driver tickets.)
Proof of age is required for entry to the event.
