Class: Home Sewing: Baby Blankets (ages 12+)
November 5, 2016 @ 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
In this class, you will learn to turn men’s dress shirts into cozy quilts. These quilted blankets are traditionally made with nine different shirts from family members and close friends, so feel free to bring personal shirts to class or use materials provided by the Scrap Exchange. We will go over quilting basics such as chaining, using binding, and adding finishing details, including applique, monogramming, and labels. Each person will finish a blanket in class to take with them.
All tools and materials are provided, but feel free to bring your own sewing machine, fabric scissors, and/or fabrics. All techniques will be covered in the class, but some familiarity with machine sewing is helpful.
Registration is suggested. Space is limited.
