Class: To Weave or Knot: Scrap-Be-Little Pumpkins! (ages 16+)

Who said weaving has to be flat? Join us to explore loom weaving and weave an adorable wee pumpkin to celebrate the harvest! Students will learn how to construct and setup of a pocket-sized, backstrap loom handmade from simple materials, as well as how to select the right fibers for the job. No weaving experience necessary. Technical weaving terms, large loom comparisons, and other pocket loom project suggestions will be shared throughout the class in order to prepare you for future weaving adventures! All materials provided.
Registration is suggested. Space is limited.

Instructor: Jan French
Jan French is fiber artist and weaving educator demonstrating, collaborating, and teaching in local schools, arts councils, and festivals. She is a member of the Triangle Weavers Guild Education Committee and strives to share the history and joy of weaving with as many as possible. Jan has instructed hundreds of folks of all ages to build and weave on a simple handmade loom on which she has created many projects. Her larger fiber works include natural and salvaged materials. Early Bird Registration Bonus!
Register for any class at least 3 weeks in advance and receive a $5 store voucher good towards the purchase of any materials in The Scrap Exchange retail store! Voucher will be handed out at the beginning of the class, and will be valid for two weeks. The voucher may not be applied to Cameron Gallery items or programs. This voucher will only be given to students who register at least 3 weeks prior to the start date/time of the class.
Refunds for class fees will be issued if the class is cancelled by The Scrap Exchange for any reason. If you register for a class and cannot attend, a refund will only be issued if you notify the Scrap Exchange at least 24 hours before the class begins.
