Call for Artists
The Cameron Gallery at The Scrap Exchange presents
The Friends and Family Show, April 15 thru May 7, 2016
In celebration of The Scrap Exchange’s 25 years as a pioneer and leader in the creative reuse industry, the Cameron Gallery is hosting an open-call, non-juried art show for artists that incorporate reclaimed or upcycled materials in their work. Friends and Family will open on Third Friday, April 15, 2016. All works in the show will be for sale, with 60% of proceeds going to the artist and 40% going to The Scrap Exchange.
- Artists may submit up to three pieces. All works must incorporate a strong element of creative reuse. We welcome work in all media. (Some pedestals are available for sculpture display; please contact us for more information about what we have available for displaying items).
- Bring your work to The Scrap Exchange during store hours on the following days prior to the show’s opening: Monday, April 11 (11am to 7pm), Tuesday, April 12 (11am to 7pm), Wednesday, April 13 (11am to 7pm), Thursday, April 14 (11am to 7pm) and Friday, April 15 (11am to 3pm). Check in with a retail store manager to complete the Artist Contract and Inventory List and to create display labels for your artwork.
- Bring your friends and family to celebrate the show’s opening on Third Friday, April 15! We will provide complimentary food and beverages. Art making in our Make-N-Take room is free on Third Fridays.
- The show closes on May 8, 2016. Please plan to collect unsold work on May 8, so that the artists installing the next gallery show may prepare the space. If you are unable to claim your work on May 8, contact Chellie LaPointe to arrange for pick-up of your work. All uncollected work becomes property of The Scrap Exchange on June 1 and may be sold. We will issue checks to artists for sold works 2-4 weeks after the close of the show.
Please contact Chellie LaPointe, Cameron Gallery Coordinator at gallery [at] scrapexchange [dot] org or by phone at 919-213-1278 with questions.
