We are happy to have those in need of court-mandated community service hours join us at The Scrap Exchange. Anyone looking to complete their hours with us must attend a community service orientation. At the orientation, you’ll learn about our history, our operations, and what we expect from volunteers, and you’ll fill out some paperwork and take a tour of our stores. Once you’ve completed a community service orientation, you can schedule shifts with us any time during store hours.
Community service orientations are held in the Reuse Arts Store (not the Thrift Store)
every Thursday night from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
To find our next community service orientation date, check out our events calendar.
If you have court-ordered community service,
please make sure you attend a community service orientation, not a general volunteer orientation.
Bringing official paperwork from a lawyer or court system may be helpful but is not required. Acceptable paperwork includes: letters, papers, or placement forms from your lawyer, case coordinator, or a court system.
**Please note that we have policies regarding which offenses can be accepted. To find out if you can complete your community service with us, please contact Tatyana, the volunteer coordinator, by email at email@example.com or by phone at 919-401-0552.
