- Materials Management and Collections, Staff
Cameron was born in New Mexico and came to the South to volunteer in the federal volunteer program Americorps National Civilian Community Corps. As a result of that service he returned to the Triangle for graduate school in 2002. His teaching and research as a political science professor focused on American Government and Public Administration. His favorite college courses to teach were in North Carolina prisons and leading Elon Teaching Fellows education policy courses in Washington D.C. He also volunteers as a court-appointed advocate for abused and neglected children in the NC District Courts of Orange and Chatham counties. He enjoys creating, volunteering, nature, and spending time with his family and friends. He started at the Scrap Exchange as a volunteer and then began working in processing, at the register, and as greeter. He later worked in Outreach, Collections, and the Warehouse. He loves solving problems and creating solutions at an organization doing so much good while working alongside so many great dedicated people. He especially enjoys integrating serving other nonprofits into our waste diversion efforts.
