Thank you for your interest in selling your work in the Artist Market at The Scrap Exchange! In order to be considered for a spot as a seller in the Artist Market you must first apply online. We do not accept walk-in applications.
Artists’ are chosen to participate in the Market based on multiple factors. The most important one is the uniqueness of their creations---then pricing, quality of product, and the amount of space we have available. We are looking for items that go beyond basic crafts and have an original twist to the that makes them stand out as yours.

Applicants must be 18 or older.
Incorporating recycled and reused materials is encouraged, but not required.
Applications are juried on an ongoing basis. Artists must live in North Carolina and be able to deliver and restock their work in-person.
The types of handmade items we are most looking for right now include screenprinted posters, sculpture, zines, hand-printed textile goods, accessories, and small home decor items.
The Artist Market does not sell clothing that needs to be tried on. We also do not have the space to sell most large artworks and bulky home decor items (like quilts or pillows). Items that sell best are priced under $20, and we rarely accept works priced over $100.
Items must be easy to display and come with protective packaging (when required).
Accepted artists make an 80% commission on the sale of their work. Payments are made quarterly via direct deposit by the 15th of the following month.
Unsold merchandise is returned to the artist after a six-month period. Arrangements can be made if an artist needs to withdraw their work sooner.
Artists must be willing to communicate via email and carefully read and respond in a timely manner in order to maintain their account. Due to the extremely generous commission we offer, we only retain artists who are prompt, professional, and easy to work with. Please make sure you are able to fully commit to this opportunity before applying.
Space is limited in the Artist Market and unfortunately we do not have the capacity to accept everyone who applies. We put a lot of thought and care into reviewing every application and there are many reasons why we choose to take some items and not others. Please do not take it personally if your work is not chosen.
