Material Requests
One of our says at The Scrap Exchange that is also an organizational ethos is “we have everything in abundance!”.
We are very fortunate to have so much material for sale in our store, use in our programs, and to share with the community. If you have a need for an item that we sell in-store and are interested in a material donation, please read the terms below and fill out the following form.
We are happy to consider pro-bono material donations to organizations, individuals, or groups that meet the following criteria:
you are a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(8) nonprofit organization
you are an educator or city of Durham department
you operate under the social work or mental health umbrella
As is The Scrap’s model, we have some items that we have a lot of, some that we have a little, and our inventory is constantly changing. Please be concise in your request but also keep the following notes in mind:
most of the items we are happy to part with are what we receive in bulk such as toilet paper rolls, binders, notebooks, pill bottles, fabric, yarn, and other fiber or crafting materials
we are not able to make donations on a micro level - for each material donation request we require that you take at least one large plastic tote’s worth of items - adversely, we can only accomodate
we require at least 7 business days worth of notice for all material requests
we ask that a small “materials provided by The Scrap Exchange” sign to be displayed at the site of donated materials
All material donations can be picked up from Design Center in the Reuse Arts Store each Thursday between 3 and 5pm. We receive several requests and ask that you respect this pickup window.
