Join The Scrap Exchange’s Friends of Mongo program and help keep valuable resources out of the waste stream and put them into the hands of teachers, artists, kids, and creative people everywhere. Community support helps us keep our costs low, both for the materials we sell and for the programs we offer. It also supports fundraising efforts by providing a quantifiable indicator of how much we’re valued in our local community.

MONGO BENEFITS INCLUDE:

  • 30% off Design Center and Make N’ Take room rentals

  • Usage of our Design Center tools and sewing machines

  • 40% off all items in the Reuse Center and Scrap Thrift on Wednesdays + Sundays (this does not include Artist Marketplace merchandise)

  • Bragging rights and occasional Scrap Swag

MONGO TERMS INCLUDE:

  • Pay what you can! Supporting arts resources should be accessible to everyone. Whether it’s $50 per month or 5 bajillion dollars a month, we’re grateful for your support in whatever capacity works for you. We are asking for a minimum $10 per month to maintain sustainer status.

  • Present your Friends of Mongo card to a Scrap crew member to access benefits. If you forget your card, we’ll keep a copy in the Design Center for you to use when you’re here.

  • Opt out at anytime - life happens. Your member portal allows you to make any changes necessary any time you need.

What are some ways that my monthly monetary contribution is helping TSE grow and maintain operations?

If you donate $10 per month, you’re supporting our ability to offer 80/20 terms to our Artist Marketplace vendors.

If you donate $25 per month, you’re lifting up our opportunities to share our reuse arts supplies with our community partners at little to no cost.

If you donate $50 per month, you’re expanding our capacity to be a community recyclery, offering disposal services for materials such as e-waste, scrap metal, and cardboard.

If you donate $75 per month, you’re directly investing in our ability to provide a living wage and benefits for our team members.

If you donate $100 per month, you’re making it possible for us to provide affordable rent for our Reuse Arts District neighbors and make building repairs and improvements.

SIGN ME UP! What are next steps?

STEP 1: Head over to our FUNDRAISING PORTAL, choose your monthly donation amount, enter payment info. Your profile will send you payment reminders, refer back to benefits and terms, allow you to adjust your donation, and more.

STEP 2: We’ll fill out your membership card with your name and e-mail. Next time you stop into Scrap, grab your card from the Rolodex in Design Center (filed under your last name). Add your pronouns, cell, and what Scrap Magic means to you. If you run out of room, just write on the back (no rules). Don’t forget to sketch yourself in the little box!

STEP 3: We’ll fill out another card that we’ll keep in the Design Center for use when you’re at Scrap.

STEP 4: Enjoy being a Friend of Mongo and thank you for supporting The Scrap Exchange! We couldn’t do it without you. Show your card whenever you’re shopping at the Reuse Center and your perks will be applied. Same thing goes for the Design Center and Make N’ Take privileges - just mention your member number to the Scrap Team member you’re corresponding with.

You’ll occasionally receive e-mails from us for special Friends of Mongo swag, promotions, and sales - otherwise we won’t be buggin’ you too much.
